This is a fine example of a classic Kenya Coffee, floral with notes of hibiscus, lavender, brown sugar and a slightly winey acidity. Kenyan coffee stands as a paragon of bold, distinctive flavor in the world of specialty coffee, this blend comprises of coffees from 2 mills, Gatura in Nyeri county and Mutitu in Kirinyaga.
With this blend, smallholder producers deliver only the ripest cherries to local wet mills, where they undergo careful sorting, washing, and fermentation. A unique second soaking process, lasting 24-40 hours, contributes to the coffee's brilliant acidity and clean profile. After processing, the beans are sun-dried on raised Kenya-style beds, ensuring even exposure to air and optimal development of flavors.
This particular lot comes from the "fly" crop, a smaller midseason harvest that precedes the main one, offering a unique seasonal expression of Kenyan terroir.
