This year, the Coffee Gurus at La Minita estate began decaffeinating their hallmark el Indio coffee. Comprised of fruit harvested from several small farms bordering la Minita, the coffee receives the same meticulous processing as all the estate coffees. The fruit is washed and dried at Beneficio Rio Tarrazu, La Minitas state of the art mill. The coffee is then decaffeinated using the gentle swiss water process, ensuring the coffee is stripped of caffeine while leaving the amazing flavor intact. The result is without a doubt the finest decaf we have ever roasted, excellent for a range of extraction from drip to espresso.
Costa Rica's Tarrazú Mountains, with their high elevations and rich volcanic soil, are renowned for producing some of the world's finest coffees. Our journey as a company is deeply rooted in this region, where dramatic landscapes and dedicated farmers create the perfect environment for exceptional coffee cultivation. At the heart of this coffee paradise lies La Minita estate, one of the country's largest and most respected farming operations, known for its unwavering commitment to quality from cherry selection to final cup.
The result is nothing short of remarkable: a decaf coffee that rivals its caffeinated counterparts in complexity and depth. In the cup, you'll discover a harmonious blend of milk chocolate sweetness, the creamy richness of cashews, and subtle notes of dried fruit. This flavor profile makes it exceptionally versatile, performing beautifully in a range of brewing methods from drip to espresso. For those seeking the rich, full-bodied experience of Costa Rican coffee without the caffeine jitters and anxiety attack, this is the coffee for you.
